Figure Skating Practice Sessions are exclusive times put aside for figure skaters to take private lessons with their coaches and practice their elements and routines for testing and competitions.

VISITING COACHES

Ice Arena welcomes visiting coaches however all must apply for a coaching permit before accessing the private practice sessions. Please contact skateschool@icearena.au to apply for a permit.

PRIVATE SESSION TERMS & CONDITIONS

Below is a summary of the key Figure Skating Practice Session Rules. When you purchase a Weekly Pass / 10 Pass or Single Entry to a Figure Skating Practice Session you are agreeing to the Conditions of Entry, Code of Conduct, Assumption of Risk, and Figure Skating Etiquette & Rules which can be found on the Terms & Conditions page.

Please ensure you are familiar with the terms below

• All Aussie Skate students must practice on the small  ice, unless in a lesson.
• Music is permitted to be played twice per program
• Earbuds/headphones are not permitted to be worn on the ice unless in a Virtual Coaching session (requirements above)
• Yellow vests must only be worn by the skater whose music is currently playing
• Coaches must stand within 1 meter of the barrier, unless demonstrating or choreographing
• Coaches can only bump the music of the skater who is in their lesson
• Coaching by parents from the grandstand, benches, railing or doors is not allowed at any time, parents will be required to remain in the cafe area if this happens
• Only 3 skaters in a lesson or group and no more than 2 skaters linked together
• Hockey boxes are for coaches and officials only, with the box gates closed at all times
• Abusive behaviour WILL NOT BE TOLERATED or accepted on any level

PRIVATE LESSONS

Its advised before starting private lessons skaters have reached the free skate levels of the Aussie Skate program. This is where the journey of a competitive skater begins. Choosing a coach is an important decision as this coach can help you achieve your goals in competitive skating or reaching advanced levels of Figure Skating.

Ice Arena Figure Skating Coaches offer private lessons for all ages. When you take private lessons you pay the coach directly.

AM CLUB

TUE & THUR 9.30-10.30am

Ice skating is a fun way to stay active, so why not make it a social activity too?

The AM club is on Tuesday and Thursday mornings 9.30-10.30am during term time. These sessions are adults only, and designed for recreational skaters to have a relaxed skate, keep fit and have fun.

AM Club sessions are discounted to $17.50 excluding skate hire, or $21.50 with skates.

(For anyone looking to practice that are at silver-level figure skating and above, we recommend attending one of our Figure Skating sessions).
